6 Online Resources for Real Estate Education

November 24 2015

Looking to complete CE credits? Find software user tips? How about discovering new sales techniques to leverage? Whatever your particular situation, you can satisfy just about any educational need online.

The big question is--where to start? A search for "real estate education online" turns up 358,000,000 results on Google. The problem isn't a dearth of information, but an abundance of it. To help you cut through the noise, we've created this quick guide to our favorite online educational resources for real estate. Check it out to find six great places to start your learning journey.

Through your Broker, MLS or Association

We'll start with the most obvious. Checking the educational offerings of your brokerage, MLS, or association should always be the first thing you do. They often offer training in conjunction with their technology partners on tech solutions used within the organization or offered as a member benefit.

Your MLS or association should be your go-to source to find continuing education opportunities. Start by checking their website for more information. If your organization's website is a little thin, don't hesitate to call or email them directly.

And don't forget to check out NAR. Their REALTORĀ® Education page offers a wealth of information and links to learning resources: http://www.realtor.org/education

Webinars

Webinars are a great source of free real estate training. These live online events typically feature a main educational segment followed by a Q&A session. The format is similar to a classroom, and it's a wonderful way to interact directly with the host or instructor.

If you're looking for training on how to better use your favorite real estate technology solutions, check the company's website for a "Support" or "Training" section. And don't forget to check RE Technology's webinar section! We publish dozens of webinar announcements every month.

If it's sales advice you're looking for, one of our favorite events is Homes.com's Secrets of Top Selling Agents series. Each month, they invite a prominent real estate figure to share their method for achieving success. During their next event, Jimmy Mackin, co-founder of Curaytor, is presenting "How to Spend $2,000 a Month and Get a Big Return on Investment."

Training Programs

Maybe you're ready for a more in-depth education than a webinar can offer. In that case, consider enrolling in an online training or certification program. GoodLife Realty, one of the most technologically forward thinking brokerages operating today, offers the Paperless Agent program to show agents the ins and outs of leveraging iPad, Facebook, Evernote and more for real estate.

For a complete list of training opportunities, see our Education product category.

Online Forums and Groups

One of the best ways to learn is by sharing experiences with other agents. Thanks to the internet, it doesn't matter where you're located--you can always find a place to connect with real estate colleagues. For those moments on technical distress, we love Tech Support Group for Real Estate Agents on Facebook. Google+ users should explore Real Estate communities for places to connect and chat about the industry.

If you're a "vintage" web surfer who still recognizes the value of forums, check out AgentsOnline.net.

Blogs

Blogs are a fantastic way to keep up with industry news and trends. Your MLS or association may have one to keep you abreast of local events and training opportunities. Technology vendors often have blogs, too, that offer educational articles and news on product updates. Check their website to find out.

RE Technology is a resource, too!

Last but certainly not least--don't forget to check RE Technology! We strive to be a comprehensive resource for all things related to real estate technology. If you're looking for information on specific solutions, check out our Product Directory. You can search by category to find exactly the type of product that you need.

See our collection of educational articles for how-to's, product reviews, tips on leveraging technology, and more. Sort by topic to research a subject in more depth. And, as always, don't hesitate to contact us with any tech questions you may have. We're always happy to help!
