Ways You Can Leverage Realtors Property Resource

July 08 2016

tech guide 2016 rpr mobileWe're diving into another close-up look at one of the real estate technology products in our 2016-17 Technology Guide. This week's solution? Realtors Property Resource (RPR)!

What is RPR?

There's a good chance that you're already familiar with RPR. It's a benefit included your NAR membership, and one that's available only to Realtors. RPR is a property research tool that offers Realtors access to real estate market data, analytics, branded reports, and information on zoning, permits, mortgage and lien data, schools, foreclosures, and more.

Here are just a few of the things Realtors can do with RPR:

  • Create winning listing presentations - Realtor Penny Brockway uses everything from RPR's Realtor Valuation Model (RVM) to customized Seller Reports to create presentations that wow clients. You can read her story here.
  • Attract and capture online leads - RPR has a wealth of reports that offer valuable information to potential clients. Realizing that value, some Realtors have begun to offer RPR reports on their website in exchange for a consumer's contact information. Here's more on how you can do the same.
  • Engage buyers at open houses - RPR is Nicole Nicolay's most important tool at an open house. She uses printed versions of the Mini Property report, the Neighborhood report, and the School report to pique the curiosity of buyers and gather their contact information. She uses the RVM to engage curious neighbors who may thinking of selling their own home and want to know more about their home's value. Learn more about Nicole's open house strategies here.

However, what really made RPR come to life, as Realtor Dale Chumbley puts it, is the release of their mobile app in 2014. The app is a powerful on the go tool because it weds smartphone capabilities to all of RPR's analytical, search, and report generating features. For example:

  • Text: Users can generate reports on the fly and instantly text or email them to clients and prospects.
  • Call: Every property listing on RPR Mobile has a click-to-call button. Just click this button to contact the agent and schedule a showing--all without having to search for or dial a phone number.
  • GPS: RPR Mobile taps into your phone's geo-locational capabilities to let you search the homes around you and view their details and estimated values. This is especially helpful when trying to understand property values in a neighborhood.
  • Camera: Let's be honest--a lot of MLS photos are just plain terrible. Fortunately, you can add your own photos to any RPR report. Use your phone's camera to snap better images of a property and add them to a report directly from RPR Mobile. You can use this feature to prepare reports for homes that are not yet on the MLS, too!
