3 Creative Ways to Show off Your Matterport 3D Tours

May 17 2017

3D tour company Matterport announced a partnership with Google last week. The agreement lets consumers access Matterport tours from "Street View" on Google Maps. Imagine it: a prospective buyer virtually strolling around a neighborhood in Street View will be able to navigate from the street into your listing and take a full-on three-dimensional tour at their leisure!

The Matterport and Google integration won't go live until this summer—but there are plenty of unique ways that agents show off their Matterport tours today. Here are three creative ways you can distribute your 3D virtual tours right now:

1. Realtor.com

The newest way to distribute your 3D tours is also the easiest! In March, Realtor.com partnered with Matterport to display 3D property tours on their website and on the Realtor.com mobile app. Agents who have created Matterport tours don't have to lift a finger—tours are automatically linked to Realtor.com and appear on your listing's property detail page.

2. A Dedicated Website

An Arizona brokerage has taken a creative approach to promoting their Matterport 3D tours. RE/MAX Excalibur set up a dedicated website to display tours not only of their listings, but of businesses and other spaces in their local community.

On Tucson3Dtours.com, consumers can virtually walk through the brokerage's listings, as well as a local gallery, theatre, bar, Chamber of Commerce, and more. The website is especially helpful to out-of-town and relocating buyers who are looking to get a feel for the community from afar.

3. Facebook

If setting up a website for your 3D tours is too much work, consider creating a Facebook business page instead. RE/MAX Excalibur created a Facebook page dedicated to their Matterport tours as a companion to their 3D website.

You don't have to set up a dedicated Facebook page if you don't want to, though. Simply sharing it on your existing page is enough to drum up plenty of attention. In fact, Facebook posts that share Matterport 3D tours receive 100-200 percent more views than posts with photos! So get sharing!
