Look at video usage in real estate marketing from a different view, with the help of drone photography technology. No longer a tool for cutting edge, tech-savvy agents, drones are rapidly becoming a must-have for today’s successful Realtor, particularly those specializing in the luxury market. Recent changes to federal rules governing their operation are making it easier for agents (and photographers) to climb aboard.
Clients of agents in luxury and specialty markets, including properties with extensive acreage, landscaping, scenic views or farmland, are now turning to agents with drone capabilities to capture those ‘glamour shots’ and expansive property views. Before drone technology buzzed onto the scene, these shots were hard to get without airplane or helicopter assistance.
Today, amazing high-definition shots are possible – and affordable – thanks to advances in the technology of unmanned aircraft.
Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as buying a drone and taking shots – aerial photographs, that is. The Federal Aviation Administration governs the strict rules regarding commercial drone photography and requires professional remote pilot certification. One cannot simply do a quick review of the manufacturer’s instructions included with your shiny, new drone.
If the pilot certification process and aerial drone photography learning curve are too much for you, then you can still get fantastic video with the help of a licensed, insured drone photographer in your area, or via the International Drone Expo.
