Are You Onboard for Inman?

January 07 2011

Onboard InformaticsMany attend Inman's Real Estate Connect for the opportunity to discover the trends that will help shape the real estate industry in 2011. For Onboard Informatics, however, it's an opportunity to continue the conversation about lifestyle search, a paradigm shift in looking for property online.

"Real Estate Connect helps set the tone for 2011," said Scott Petronis Senior Director of Product Management for Onboard Informatics. "There are many great sessions talking about the trends driving the industry that help focus effort and are good reminders for the year to come."

Petronis will be kicking off his second year attending the Real Estate Connect conference. Petronis, Stacy Ret, Director of Marketing and Onboard's Chief Technology Officer, Pete Goldey will be among 15 staffers attending the conference in New York City January 12 – 14, 2011. Goldey will be joining Adam DuVander, Executive Editor of Programmable Web and Andrew Mattie, lead developer at Diverse Solutions on a panel discussing APIs and "Everything you need to know to sex up your website with data" on Wednesday morning (8:30 – 9:15 a.m.) , January 12, 2011. The API panel is part of the Connect Tech Workshop as well as one of the topics Onboard will be focusing on at Booth 106 in the Exhibit Hall.

Onboard will also be focusing on lifestyle search, something the company believes will change how consumers search for property online and how Onboard clients like Coldwell Banker interact with prospective buyers online. Lifestyle search recognizes that people make real estate decisions on more than just square-footage and price. They offer clients, like coldwellbanker.com which introduced lifestyle search on their website just before Christmas, the ability to help consumers identify the neighborhoods that meet their lifestyle needs. It's a different way to look at searching for a house online that integrates with existing websites and enhances the overall visitor experience.

Adding value is familiar territory for Real Estate Connect. According to Petronis, three attributes make the conference stand out not just in the real estate industry but also among other conferences. The smaller scale, attention to scheduling that allows all participants time to attend sessions and an exhibit area that people consistently congregate in combine to make it a highly productive experience for all attendees, including vendors and speakers.

"Real Estate Connect is a gives us the opportunity to meet clients and solidify relationships," RET concurs. "It is a great chance to get face-to-face with key players and innovators in the real estate and technology sectors."
