RMLS™ is Awarded RESO Data Dictionary Certification

August 13 2015

PORTLAND, OR (August 10, 2015)—Regional Multiple Listing Service (RMLS™), the northwest's largest REALTOR®-owned multiple listing service, announced today that they are now in full compliance with the Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) Data Dictionary version 1.3. RMLS™ is the fifth MLS in the United States to convert and certify against this rigorous set of standards.

The RESO Data Dictionary has been dubbed the industry's 'Rosetta Stone' and serves as the real estate industry's standard for defining real estate listing data so that data gathered by hundreds of MLSs across the nation will eventually "speak" the same language" said Jeremy Crawford, Executive Director of RESO.

Using a common standard will foster innovation and help create a "plug and play" environment, where REALTORS® could purchase software and use it with data from any MLS operating on the RESO standards.

"Implementing a national set of data standards is vital to the real estate industry as a whole, saving time and money," RMLS™ President and CEO Kurt von Wasmuth said. "MLSs, vendors and other parties can develop single-product solutions that can be more easily implemented across the nation once more systems have been converted."
