Show off your whiz, bang, wow, killer app at RESO Fall Conference

July 13 2016

RESO 2016 Fall Conference 1The Show N Tell session at last year's Spring Conference in Chicago was such a hit, we had to bring it back for the RESO Fall Conference in Nashville, Oct. 24-26. Since this could be the biggest RESO conference to date – we already have nearly 100 registrants and will have to close the door at 300 – this will clearly be the place for companies ready to unveil their latest data-related innovations that use RESO standards.

What is Show N Tell?

Hosted by our Vice Chair Rob Overman, the CTO of Lone Wolf Real Estate Technologies, RESO 'Show N Tell' is a place where companies take to the stage to demonstrate some of the newest breakthrough innovations in real estate. In the audience will be the industry's "movers and shakers," attending what has become real estate's most coveted data and technology conference. Both top management and technology leaders from MLSs, associations, technology companies and brokerages will be coming to Nashville.

The audience will also be the judges: At the end of the Show N Tell, winners will be announced and recognized as a "RESO Standards Innovator," and will be included in a news release issued nationally.

What are we looking for?

The Fall Conference theme is a good indicator of what we are looking for: "Accelerating the Reach of Data Standards."  Do you have a product that is ready to take off? Is your product leveraging the RESO Data Dictionary and/or the RESO Web API in new and interesting ways? Does your innovation rely on MLS data, connecting to an MLS or other data source(s)? Do RESO Standards play a big part – or will they play a big part – in the success or uniqueness of your innovation?

If the answer is yes to one or more of these questions, your firm should apply.

What's it like?

Show N Tell takes place on Monday, Oct. 24, the first day of the RESO Fall Conference at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Nashville. (Which reminds me: We will sell out our conference hotel room block quickly; hotel prices in Nashville have escalated, so if you haven't registered for the conference and booked your hotel at our conference rate, you will want to do both early.) It is scheduled for the afternoon, and we have blocked the agenda so it is a general session and does not compete against other workshops. That means presenters will have a packed room.

Participants will have approximately 5-10 minutes to demonstrate their innovation, and then we will spend a few more minutes to take questions from the audience.

If you're an MLS, technology provider, broker, or hot new start-up interested in debuting the cutting edge work that you're developing and/or selling into the real estate marketplace, then this is the place to show your stuff to peers, get feedback, criticism, raving reviews, press coverage, social media mentions and, most importantly, put your product on the map.

And if you would rather 'watch' than 'show,' then this day was also meant for you, as the Show N Tell presentations should be top-notch, guaranteeing you will have a great time.

Is there a catch to participate?

There are a couple of catches to Show N Tell that you need to take into consideration. First, Show N Tell presentations need to be relevant to the conference, but presentations also need to be entertaining! This really is a fun event, so don't take it too seriously, as your goal is to engage the audience. If you have fun, they will have fun. It will also make your Show N Tell innovation stand out and be highly memorable.

Second, while you must be a RESO member to participate in Show N Tell, joining RESO is fast, easy and dues are scaled to make it affordable to every size organization, whether you are a start-up data technology company, an established MLS technology partner, a major real estate franchise brokerage, or a small association owned MLS: RESO is open to all. You can find the information you need to join online at http://www.reso.org/join.

Third, all presenters need to register for the conference. RESO is a nonprofit organization and our goal is to simply cover the costs of the conference from both our very affordable registration fees – which are one-half or one-third as much as most real estate technology related conferences – and sponsorships. RESO conferences keep an aggressive working agenda, which means we also provide breakfast and lunch as part of your registration fee, and our sponsors typically provide an after hours event with libations and food – at no additional cost.

The Goal of Show N Tell

The goal of RESO is to foster innovation to improve efficiency in real estate and the RESO Show N Tell is your opportunity to showcase how your latest innovation is helping in making that happen. So apply online here, have a bit of fun, educate fellow RESO members about your newest innovation, and help us create another outstanding Fall Conference through your participation.
