What's in Your CMA?

July 17 2016

cma report consultationThis week's featured product from our 2016-17 RE Technology Guide is Cloud CMA. Since their launch, Cloud CMA has not only built one of the fastest growing user bases among real estate brokers in the CMA category, but it has become one of the most quickly adopted technology tools industry-wide. RE Technology connected with Cloud CMA CEO Greg Robertson to better understand why their product has had so much success with leading real estate brokers.

About a decade ago, MLSs largely crushed the sales of CMA products to brokerages. It is a hotly debated topic about the role of the MLS and the old discussion about "leveling the playing field." When you put the MLS product right in front of the agent, it makes it pretty difficult for brokers to drive adoption of a different product. To survive, CMA software developers focused on something the MLS CMA fails to do – branding, custom content, enterprise management, and ease of use.

CMAs have long been considered "difficult" to use. Selecting a bunch of comparable properties and organizing them into a presentation was a lot of manual lifting before Cloud CMA came along. They blew the CMA category wide open with their support for mobile.

Fast and Mobile Friendly

Cloud CMA was the first tool to be truly responsive, meaning that you can build a CMA on your phone's browser. Moreover, building a CMA is fast. Simply send an email with the property address and you can get a report back in less than a minute. In fact, you have your choice of reports.

Here are the steps:

  1. Put the title of your report in the subject line of your e-mail.
  2. For a Property Report, put the property address (including city/state or zip) or a single MLS number on the first line of the body of your e-mail and send it to property[at]cloudcma.com.
  3. For a CMA, put the subject property address (including city/state or zip) on the first line of the body of your e-mail and send it to cma[at]cloudcma.com.
  4. For a Buyer Tour, put MLS numbers (comma-separated) on the first line of the body of your e-mail and send it to tour[at]cloudcma.com

In 60 seconds or less, you'll get an email back with your completed report! Visit this link to look at sample reports and get a free 30 day trial.

Tell Your Story

A CMA has two functions. The first is to show property details and comparable properties. The second is to tell your story. Cloud CMA designs are beautiful and look great in print or on an iPad or computer. Unlike many other presentation tools, they have designed the graphics to leverage large images that make properties pop off the page, rather than the small thumbnails of most MLS reports. But property reports to do not tell the story about why the consumer should hire your brokerage and your agent.

Cloud CMA is an incredibly flexible solution for brokers. They do not look at branding through the lens of simply adding a logo. The platform allows the brokerage marketing department to develop a presentation that impresses the consumer and highlights the differences between your firm and your competitors. Combining a beautiful presentation with a well structured story are key components to a successful sales presentation. With Cloud CMA, the brokerage can position itself to the consumer as well as your best sales person delivering their best pitch, every time!

If you have not taken a look at Cloud CMA recently, it is a good idea to freshen up your awareness of their application. If your agents are not meeting or exceeding the level of quality from CloudCMA, you are probably losing transactions. This link will take you to a landing page on the Cloud CMA website where you can access sample reports and activate a free, 30-day trial.

P.S. Cloud CMA released a new tool recently called "What's My Home Worth?" It allows consumers to pull their own CMA from your website or mobile device. It is a precious seller lead generation tool, especially for off market listings appearing on your website.
