How Brokers Are Transforming Their Community Webpages with Automated Market Videos

January 31 2018

Yesterday, we offered a little DIY advice for real estate professionals who want to create their own marketing videos. But what if you simply don't have the time—or the inclination—for shooting, editing, and promoting video?

We have advice for that, too: outsource it! That's why today we're looking at Market Videos, a automated video solution that's highlighted in our 2017-18 Technology Guide.

What Is Market Videos?

Market Videos is a collaboration between Terradatum and VScreen that marries the former's MLS data driven insights with the latter's high-end video production values. The result is a solution that automatically generates professional, localized market videos every month.

These videos educate viewers on local market conditions, and includes statistics like active inventory and median listing price. The platform lets brokers focus their videos on an area that's as narrow or as wide as they'd like, whether by city, zip code, county, MLS area, or beyond.

Brokerage Use Cases

So how are brokers using Market Videos in their outreach strategy? Rather than telling you, let's show you a few real world use cases instead.

Front and Center on the Brokerage's Website

These two brokerages maximize their Market Videos' exposure by placing them prominently on their website's main page. Zephyr Real Estate displays a video for just one of the areas they serve, while RE/MAX Equity Group shows videos for eight of the markets on the front page, with additional videos available by clicking through to a secondary page.

Because the videos are automatically updated each month with the latest data from the MLS, brokers are never at risk of displaying stale content on their front page.

On Community Webpages

CENTURY 21 Signature Real Estate has created a webpage for each community they serve, complete with listings, maps, area information--and a Market Video specific to that community.

On the other hand, Summit Sotheby's International Realty and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Carolinas Realty both created a single page on their websites where consumers can use a drop-down menu to select the community that they would like to watch a Market Video about. BHHS lists markets by city, while Summit gets even more granular by making videos available by city, neighborhood, zip code, and even property type (e.g., condos in Kimball Junction).

As a Complement to Market Research Materials

Our favorite use of Market Videos is by Beverly-Hanks & Associates REALTORS®. The brokerage has created a "Market Research Center" that features an impressive collection of downloadable reports, interactive graphs, in-house generated videos, and more. They use Terradatum's Market Videos here to give consumers a quick and easy way to understand what's happening in the area.
